The Private Stock "Periscope Guitar" #2 Is Complete!
Posted Mar 02, 2016
What’s this “Periscope Guitar” you ask? ...Well it started a few months ago when we grabbed Paul Reed Smith and asked him if he wanted to try something new. We showed him an app called Periscope. Using the app, we were able to live-stream a broadcast of Paul inside our Wood Vault - a special section of our shop where we keep our finest Private Stock grade woods. During the broadcast, Paul solicited the help of viewers to select woods for what we have now affectionally dubbed the 2nd “Periscope Guitar!” The guitar came out great!

While Paul is heavily involved in pretty much every aspect of our business - it’s not often you find him choosing woods and writing up specs for an entire guitar! On this day however, Paul did it!
Check out the video below to see the wood selection of Periscope Guitar #2!
After months of hard work and many hands-on hours with our Private Stock team, the guitar is finished and looks great!
This model was built with a beautiful and rare one-piece curly maple top, african ribbon mahogany back, Ziricote neck, African Blackwood fingerboard, and African Blackwood headstock veneer. The maple top was stained in a brand new color recently invented. We’ve named the finish “Imperial Purple” and this is the first instrument it appears on!
This guitar was picked up by Brian’s Guitars in Hamden, CT and is now for sale - see the guitar and additional photos HERE!
