Meet the 40th Anniversary Custom 24 Satin Limited Edition

A new twist on a classic model, the 40th Anniversary Custom 24 Satin Limited Edition celebrates four decades of PRS Guitars by bringing a fresh new look to the guitar that started it all. Only 500 of these 40th Anniversary Custom 24 Satin Limited Edition models will be made, with each one featuring a stunning mango top, ebony fretboard, satin nitro finishes, and smoked black hardware.

Before the founding of PRS Guitars in 1985, Paul Reed Smith needed to acquire funding to get the company off the ground. So he set off up and down the East Coast with two prototype models: the "PRS", which would go on to become what we know now as a PRS Standard, and the "PRS Custom", a 24 fret instrument with a curly maple top, mahogany neck and body, and rosewood fingerboard; or, the blueprint for what would become the Custom 24.

The Custom 24 is a model that predates the company and has had plenty of iterations over the years, from the versatile Custom 24-08 to the uniquely-voiced Custom 24 Piezo, to models in our S2 and SE Series. Simply put, the Custom 24 is a staple in our lineup, and a model that's synonymous with PRS.

This new 40th Anniversary limited edition honors the original Custom 24 recipe, but adds some fresh specs as well!

Despite its unique specs, this limited edition model also maintains many core features of the Custom 24 like a 25" scale length, Gen III patented tremolo, DMO Treble and Bass pickups, and 5-way blade switch!

In addition to its quilt-like mango top, the 40th Anniversary Custom 24 Satin Limited Edition also bears a "Pre-Factory" eagle logo on the headstock in homage to early PRS guitars.
