Find Your Voice, PRS SE Studio, Studio Standard & Special Semi-Hollow Comparison!

At PRS Guitars, we believe great instruments aren’t just tools, they’re creative partners. And in our latest video, we’re exploring three very different takes on tone and feel from the PRS SE lineup: the SE Studio, SE Studio Standard, and SE Special Semi-Hollow.

Each guitar brings its own voice to the table, and whether you lean toward clarity, warmth, or resonance, there’s something here for everyone.

And to keep the comparison consistent and honest, all guitars were played through the PRS Archon Classic Head and Archon 1x12 cabinet, loaded with a Celestion V-Type speaker — delivering a balanced platform that lets each guitar's tone shine through.

PRS SE Studio

The SE Studio blends classic bolt-on response with a modern edge. With a maple top and mahogany body, its Narrowfield DD “S” pickups and 58/15 LT “S” humbucker give it a punchy, clear voice that can cut, sparkle, or growl depending on your needs. It’s responsive, versatile, and ready for any stage or session.

PRS SE Studio Standard

All-mahogany construction gives the Studio Standard a bold, earthy voice with rich mids and a more vintage visual aesthetic thanks to its pickguard. It’s the raw, soulful sibling in this lineup — with the same pickup layout as the Studio but a slightly warmer tone and a no-frills, all-feel design.

PRS SE Special Semi-Hollow

Looking for something more open and expressive? The SE Special Semi-Hollow offers a unique mix of warmth and air thanks to its semi-hollow body and triple pickup layout. From dreamy cleans to dynamic leads, this guitar is all about nuance and versatility — with classic looks and serious tonal flexibility.
